Mann Cat Sanctuary

About

The Mann Cat Sanctuary is a Manx registered charity, no. 705 and aims to provide a safe and peaceful haven for unwanted, disabled and traumatised cats. We receive no government support and rely entirely on the generosity of our excellent supporters and world-wide visitors. Here at the sanctuary, we operate a strict non destruct policy unless a cat is in an advanced stage and suffering with a terminal illness or has injuries that are beyond veterinary help.

We allow all our elderly residents to live their days out in comfortable surroundings. We believe all the cats we receive need compassion, understanding and TLC but, most of all, the ability to run free. Therefore, the sanctuary consists of several spacious buildings set on seven acres of land, where the cats can roam freely. This also includes a luxury home to the rear of the sanctuary for our feral community, where they too can roam freely and are not forced to mix with humans if they do not wish to. On our website, you can take a look at our live webcams, read our articles on neutering cats, FIV and a detailed look at Manx cats, and finally don’t forget to pay a visit to our Gift Shop. We have many ways that you can donate online, please see our ‘ways to donate’.

Throughout the summer, we welcome visitors every Sunday and Wednesday afternoon between 2pm and 5pm. October to April we open on Sundays only. Entrance into the sanctuary is free, however, we do expect visitors to bring a six pack of Whiskas for the cat’s tea! During your visit, you are able to sit with our many cats who will want to make friends with you, say hello to our ponies and donkey, sponsor a resident, purchase items from our gift shop and maybe take a souvenir or two back to wherever you visit from!
